We are pleased to announce that studio artist Debbie Sharp is collaborating with composer Emma-Ruth Richards for her piece for Be Live. Emma-Ruth Richards is currently completing her doctorate in composition at the Royal Northern College of Music. Her music is performed by orchestras, ensembles and soloists including Opera North, London Philharmonia, BBC NOW Chamber Players, Manchester Camerata, Nicholas Daniel and Håkan Hardenberger among others.
Most recently Emma-Ruth has been commissioned to write her first chamber opera that will be performed and go on tour in 2013 drawing on the current social and political issues surrounding sex trafficking in the UK; the British screenwriter and actor Emma Thompson is the patron of the opera.
This unique collaboration and subsequent audio installation and live work will transform The Penthouse corridor project space.
More previews and sneaky peaks in the run up to Be Live to come.
Be Live takes place on the evening on June 8th.
